As winter sets in we are undergoing maintenance repairs to the ship. This is being funded as part of our Lottery Project.
The image here shows the large roller fairlead on the starboard quarter has been removed, as the base plate was very heavily corroded and this revealed a small area of deck plates with two holes in it. Note the two wooden plugs put in as a temporary measure to prevent ingress of water down below. Also, the two roller fairleads have been removed ready for refurbishment back at Southampton Marine’s workshop.
