Saturday 20th August - Sailing cancelled due to adverse weather conditions

We regret to inform that Saturday’s sailing to view the Bournemouth Air Festival has been cancelled. Looking at the weather forecast for tomorrow, our Captain and the Poole Pilot have concluded that conditions would not allow a safe passage. We hope that this early decision will allow time for our passengers you to amend travel plans.

Shieldhall will remain open alongside for passengers with tickets to visit for free from 10am – 4pm,also for other visitors (not on the manifest), admission £2.50, accompanied children free of charge.Tea, coffee, soft drinks, wine and a range of bottled beers / real ale (including Flack Manor Double- Drop and Romsey Gold) may be purchased. Hot food, including bacon or sausage rolls and quiche, plus cakes (including delicious Caymana Rum Cakes!), New Forest Ice Cream and a range of crisps and confectionery will also be available. The Shieldhall Gift Shop will be open with a new line of souvenirs. The Engine Room, Boiler Room and Bridge will all be open for inspection.

Given the nature of the cancellation, Shieldhall can offer refunds to ticket holders. However, as refunds will have a severe effect on the trading position of the Shieldhall, we hope you may consider transferring your tickets to another Shieldhall sailing in 2016, or hold them over to a sailing during the 2017 season. Tickets remain available for remaining Shieldhall sailings on 22 August, 3, 4, 10, 11 and 17, 18 September 2016 – a detailed description of each cruise can be found at www.ss-shieldhall.co.uk

Please can you contact the Shieldhall Ticket Manager at tickets@ss-shieldhall.co.uk to advise how you would like to proceed.

We are sorry to have to send this disappointing news, but thank you for your continued support of the Shieldhall and we look forward to welcoming you on board again soon.
