Lively first weekend of sailings for Shieldhall
Shieldhall took part in Southampton’s first Sailing Week and a ‘Parade of Sail’ on the River Itchen on Sat 27 May. The ‘Port Out, Southampton Home’ cruise welcomed SeaCity Curator Maria Newbury on board, with objects from the Museum collection including plates, cutlery; advertising posters and deck tennis balls! Author Ann Victoria Roberts entertained passengers on the Bank Holiday Monday 29 May ‘Titanic Cruise’ with tales of Titanic Captain E J Smith. These included visitors from Lucketts Travel who had booked a special ‘Southampton Titanic Package’, visiting SeaCity Museum followed by a walk through Southampton’s Titanic Quarter and a cruise on Shieldhall. ‘Titanic’ packages are available on all of Shieldhall’s 3hr sailings this year.
