New berth 110 as Shieldhall commences sailing season

Our guests on our first sailings have been delighted to see Shieldhall’s new Welcome Terminal (courtesy of Williams Shipping) and row of introductory panels on the short approach to the ship. These explain the history of Shieldhall, from her early days on the Clyde working for the Glasgow Corporation, to her employment in Southampton with Southern Water and eventual purchase by the Solent Steam Packet Charity that continues to operate Shieldhall today. Our new terminal provides a degree of cover for our hard-worked Purser team, who in previous years have had to work in all weathers checking guests on board at the base of the gangway.
