An approach has been made to National Historic Ships to make a repeat award to Shieldhall for Flagship status.
A local fundraising initiative attracted £600 with a high level of matched funding
The ECM is considering the setting up of a Members 50:50 lottery
A lead person is sought to reinstate the Steamship Experience course
The Society will continue to offer Young Persons Seamanship Training in 2017 with Richard Jarvis leading the programme. Maurice Meredith has agreed to undertake a similar role with School Groups.
New Financial Procedures including expenditure approval rules will be issued shortly.
Preparation of a Dry Dock specification for 2018 has begun.
The 2017 Sailing Programme has been published.
On board security measures are being reviewed. A co-ordinator is sought for management of an occasional security watch rota.
Membership renewals are about to start.
Crew Training will be taking place in February/March with MCA drills in April.
Andy Mabbett has taken on the role of on board co-ordinator of new deck volunteers.
The Society AGM is on 9th April. Any Members interested in standing for election to the Executive are invited to contact the Hon Secretary.
