Discussion with other organisations such as MAT on partnership working are ongoing

Marine and Engineering Supt’s will be required to ensure that copies of current watchkeeping officer certificates were held on board

A positive meeting with the new Port Director was reported although berthing arrangements were unlikely to change in the short term. The importance of Shieldhall continuing to provide a community support function had been emphasised

The Trading Company is likely to be profitable for the first time in many years. Bequests to the Charity had enabled creation of a reserve

Management of the on board shop was now in the hands of Isabel Martin

Disappointment had been expressed over the outcome of the Americas Cup cruises

The ship’s watchman had resigned and consideration for future watchkeeping discussed. A refurbishment of the cabin in 1950’s style was approved

Approval will be sought for any balance of HLF funding to be used for cabin refurbishment

A proposal to introduce Direct Debit membership payments has been abandoned due to cost

The Executive is encouraging more work to be done on volunteer recruitment, deployment, training and retention

Norman Tulip’s resignation from the Trading Company Board was noted and discussion on replacement of this position is ongoing

A proposal for a working crew training package was accepted and work has begun on implementation
