We’re preparing for Heritage Open Day and our last 2021 sailing weekend

Shieldhall is opening her gangway at Berth 110 for visits on Saturday 11 September as part of the national ‘Heritage Open Days’ initiative. Shieldhall will be open free of charge for pre-booked sessions between 10.30am – 12 noon; 12 noon – 1.30pm and 1.30pm – 3pm. If you would like to introduce friends and family to Shieldhall without any concerns of going out to sea, then this is a great opportunity! Shieldhall’s bar and galley will be open.

Later that afternoon (4pm – 6pm) Shieldhall will stage a 2hr cruise of Southampton’s Docks, passing the cruise and container ships in Port – our last ‘Family Cruise’ of the 2021 season. Tickets are priced at £25 adults and just £6.50 for children aged 3-15.

Our last sailing of the season on Sunday 12 September will see Shieldhall pass the assembled yachts moored close to Mayflower Park as part of the 2021 Southampton Boat Show. There will be plenty of whistle blowing and siren sounding! Use this last opportunity to visit the Engine Room, Boiler Room, Bridge and F’ocsle before Shieldhall is ‘put to bed’ for the winter. The Boat Show cruise will see also see Shieldhall pass the cruise ships in Port, including Anthem of the Seas, Britannia and Ventura, before a return trip down Southampton Water. This will also be your last opportunity to see the Fawley Power Station Chimney from the decks of Shieldhall before it is demolished at some point over the coming weeks! Staged between 2.30pm – 6pm, tickets are £36.50 adults and £13 children.
